Splendid Sound is a full-service sound production and recording business based in Oakland, California, that specialises in:

Conference, workshop, and other event live sound reinforcement and recording;
Choral and classical instrumental group recording and production;
School and church class, choir, and event recording and production;
Rock, pop, jazz, hip hop, and folk singer / songwriter and group recording and production; and,
Miscellaneous audio production, design, packaging, and distribution services.

Splendid has more than twenty years experience in digital sound recording and production. Splendid's owner Stephen Duffy is well-known in the Bay Area for meticulous attention to detail and for the wide range of recordings he has produced and engineered in nearly two decades of experience. Over the years Splendid Sound has produced live events sound for both performances and conferences. Splendid has been hired by City of Oakland mayor Jerry Brown's office, Glaxo Wellcome, Alameda County, M.O.C.H.A. (Museum Of Children's Art), and P.A.C.T; Splendid also does sound for live theater, and provides DJ services for private parties, specializing in World Music and the classics.

Splendid Sound also specializes in working with both public and independent schools and churches. As a father of a child at an independent school, Splendid's founder Stephen Duffy is all too aware of fundraising and how vital it’s become to keep schools afloat. This prompted him to use his talents as a producer to devise the system now used successfully in many schools throughout the greater Bay Area. Splendid Productions also works in Oakland public schools alongside Opera Piccola bringing music and drama to students who normally have no access to this kind of entertainment and teaching.

About Stephen Duffy

Award winning singer / songwriter, producer, and owner of Splendid Productions, Stephen Duffy has been in the recording and sound reinforcement business for more than twenty years during which time he’s worked with some of the Bay Area’s top artists, corporations, and schools. Stephen is also a musician with a long creative history in the music industry in Britain and California -- Stephen has recorded and / or produced more than one hundred albums. Recently he was commissioned to compose the music and sound production for the play "What Do" by Susanna Wood.

Stephen was also the founder of, and singer with, Bay Area band "Handsome Poets". His current musical group is the spooky pop band "That Man Fantastic"
